Dr.Gizem Akcan

Clinical Psychologist

I'm Dr. Gizem Akcan, Clinical Psychologist graduated from Kocaeli Anatolian High School in 2006 and completed my university education in 2011 as an Honor Student at METU Psychology Department. Due to the high degree I received in the university entrance exam, I received a TUBITAK Outstanding Achievement Scholarship during my undergraduate, maters and doctoral education. During my undergraduate education, I participated in the Erasmus program for 6 months in the Department of Psychology at Groningen University in the Netherlands. In addition, I attended training and workshops on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder and Depression organized by Istanbul Pandost Association. I took an active role in METU Primary School Children's Aid Association. While continuing my undergraduate education, I worked on research projects and gave presentations on the Effect of Performance Anxiety on the Success of Athletes, Positive and Negative Sides of Leadership, Perfectionism and the Effect of Self-Control on the Immune System. I graduated from Istanbul Arel University Psychology Master's Program in 2013. After successfully completing my master's education, I completed the Clinical Psychology Doctorate Program at Istanbul Arel University in 2017.
